The Technics SL-23 is a common and very cool belt-drive deck from the late 70’s. I highly recommend the SL-23, ahead of early Rega, Dual and Thorens decks, for someone wanting a first ‘proper’ turntable.

My friend recently had a little mishap with his beautiful Yamaha GT-2000 direct drive turntable. Naturally, I helped him sort it out…
The mishap occurred when my friend was cleaning his beloved GT-2000.
