This video documents my comprehensive overhaul and restoration of a gorgeous Krell KSA-150 class-A power amplifier.
This wonderful KSA-150 developed a serious fault at some point in the past. This had been quickly fixed and was sold to me in very poorly repaired condition. Because of this, I decided to completely overhaul the amplifier and restore it back to factory condition, using parts meeting or exceeding original specs.
The nature of the overhaul meant that I had to completely dissect and disassemble the amp. I removed all output devices and re-heatsinked them using new silicone thermal pads. I replaced almost all the capacitors. Finally, I replaced all emitter resistors and spaced them up off the board as Krell later did in these models.
