Another End-Game Kenwood L-07D Turntable!

That’s right, folks, this is the third Kenwood L-07D I’ve worked on and will hopefully have back up and running in less than 12 months.

Let’s hope I can make this three from three because, amusingly, I reckon my customer has single-handedly doubled the number of L-07Ds in Australia. Legend, check out the other two I worked on last year! I own the unobtainable Kenwood L-07DII.

Don’t worry, I’ll write all of these up in full article format when I have a chance, but in the meantime, it’s just wonderful to see and share these end-game turntables and to keep them alive and in circulation, given how few of them exist.

This one came with her owner and me without a clue as to what was inside the box. I love surprises!

And there she is, the legend, a Kenwood L-07D direct-drive turntable.

This Kenwood L-07D spins at 100 RPM and is filthy, but underneath all that grime, I reckon there is another gem, just like the last two.
Kenwood L-07D
Foul, yes, but I’ll have this looking 100% better once I get stuck in, with a little glimpse visible above. Stay tuned!

If you happening to be visiting the workshop over the next week or two, you might see this baby. You are of course welcome to ask me any questions you might have about these amazing decks. As one of the very few people who both owns one and has worked on a few, it’s fair to say I have a unique perspective.

  1. I’ve been dealing with Mike over the last few years and he’s serviced a couple of pieces for me . Mike’s workmanship and passion for detail is second to none. I have total peace of mind that if I take something to liquid audio I know I’m not going to get better service anywhere else, you may get similar, but not better. Mikes advice has helped me build my system into what it is today. At the end of the day you get what you pay for and we all have a budget, and my fear was going down an audiophile rabbit hole where I would part with my hard earned cash and I still wouldn’t be satisfied with what I had, but Mikes advice has taught me the value of golden age hifi over new mass produced stuff which has enabled me to assemble a set up I never believed existed. Im rediscovering the music , Thanks Mike .
