Hi, I have a Technics direct drive automatic turtable model SL3200 which I bought in 1978 and has served me well with very little maintenance. A week ago the right channel stopped working and therfore I seek your help. Kind regards, John.
Hi John, thanks for your business, your deck is nearly ready! Regards, Mike.
Hi , Please could tell me what foam cleanser you use to clean your equipment and where i can get it ,also have just purchased a kd 550 with no cart has been sitting for 20 years what be a rough cost for service and correct cart added to arm
Regards shane
Hi Shane, I generally use Ambersil foaming cleanser, its available at trade vendors like RS and Element14. Working out costs is tricky without seeing the deck and discussing the type of cart you would like fitted. There is huge variance in cartridge pricing, so this is best discussed in closed email or over the phone, where we can better get into your requirements.
Regards, Mike
I have a SL-7 Technics turntable and when powered, not plugged in to amp, needle slips across record. Does it just need balancing??
Unlikely Bev, unless it’s been serviced by a turntable specialist in the last few years it will need the factory specified maintenance that so many of these lovely machines aren’t given. Get in touch via my contact page if you’d like to discuss this further.
