Like the classic “Who’s the best drummer?” or “What’s the best car?”, there is no one ‘best’ anything.

There are many talented electronics repairers out there, some more talented than I, and some less. What I’ve learned over the years, though, is that a repairer’s efficacy is determined by a range of factors. Liquid Audio offers a combination of elements that’s unusual and very effective, and this has allowed us to be successful with the equipment we specialise in.

I had this conversation with my friend and former Accuphase distributor and Revolution TT store owner, Pierre, just a few days ago, around Christmas 2025. I made the point to Pierre that it has taken me over a decade to wrap my head around exactly what it is that makes my business successful.

It’s actually a bunch of things: my science background, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, experience, determination, fine motor and communication skills, passion, honesty, etc. None of these things on their own is particularly exciting, but all are nice to have, and the combination, it turns out, is highly effective in this space. No smoke or mirrors, just honest care, effort and attention to detail.
