In the same way that there is no one ‘best car’, there is no one ‘best’ anything. There are many talented electronics repairers, some more talented than I, and some less, but what I’ve learned over the years is that a repairer’s success is determined by a range of factors.

Liquid Audio offers a combination of elements that’s unusual and very effective, and this has allowed us to be successful with the equipment we specialise in. I recently had this conversation with my friend and former Accuphase distributor and Revolution TT store owner, Pierre. I made the point then that it has taken me a long time to wrap my head around exactly what makes my business successful.

In reality, it’s a bunch of things: my strong science background, crazy attention to detail, problem-solving ability, many years of experience, determination, fine motor and communication skills, passion, etc. None of these things on their own is particularly exciting. All are nice to have, but the combination, it turns out, is highly effective and leads to ongoing success. No smoke, no mirrors, just a combination of care, effort, skill and attention to detail.
