A quick post to recognise this minor milestone and thank my 2000 subscribers here on WordPress.
Hey, it’s only taken 13 years; my sincere thanks to everyone who’s subscribed, visited, enjoyed an article, engaged me to work on their hi-fi gear, donated an old piece of gear they were throwing away, whatever – you all matter equally to me!
Subscribing to my website is not something I’ve ever really promoted, as it’s not a major metric like site traffic, for example. I largely ignored it for many years, but the numbers slowly grew, and in the last 12 months, website subscriber numbers have dramatically increased.
It varies slightly from day to day, but today, 30 March 2025, is the first time I’ve hit 2000 subscribers to liquidaudio.com.au, so I figured: let’s call it!
Background
Briefly, for those who are interested, I see Liquid Audio and the people who value what I do as one big, hi-fi-cherishing family. When I gave away the science education and corporate university gigs of my past to focus on Liquid Audio, I swore I would only do work that I enjoyed, that others valued as much as I do and where everyone who wanted to could become part of an extended interest group focussed on amazing hi-fi gear, music and a celebration of beautiful engineering and classic design.
I also swore I’d never do another stand-up meeting, and I haven’t, but that’s another story!
Given our other milestones like two million views, my YouTube channel hitting 5000 subscribers a few years ago and now 2000 subscribers here on my website, I reckon we’ve created a positive and growing community of people around the world who ‘get’ what I’m doing, how and why I’m doing it, and who love the sort of equipment I write about for the same reasons I do.
I see it as all about sharing the enthusiasm, and the more, the merrier. Thanks for sharing the journey with me; let’s keep going! 🙂

My dog has more subs
Well done let’s see you hit 5,000. I’m sure there’s lots more nerds out there , I’m one of them at least.
Congrats to your dog and thanks for being a nerd/subscriber! Subscribers here on WordPress is not a thing like it is with YouTube for example, but I’m pleased that 5+ million views across platforms is more than any of my competitors, so we’re getting there. Onwards!
Fantastic milestone Mike,
Well deserved. You have quite an avid following especially in Perth. Love your articles. Take care.

Wo hen hao and thank you Tony! Yes, I like the 306, 606 and 909, all will be featured eventually, when I find the time.
That’s great still want to know what cleaning solution you use on turntables that won’t harm electronics.
Thanks Steven, glad you are enjoying the site! Keeping electronics safe is really about techniques rather than products.
Hi Mike
Your posts have been a revelation for me as I have not seen such detailed write ups and photos to illustrate what you are doing. I look forward eagerly to your updates and really wish I was in Perth to be able to utilise your services!
